421 Forward is a proposed project to identify issues and analyze potential options to meet driver and pedestrian mobility needs of your community around US 421 between Greenfield/Templin Road up to County Road 300 South.
Drivers and pedestrians experience mobility issues within this corridor due to the various residential subdivisions entrances and the current traffic volume, which is anticipated to increase in the future.
421 Forward is in the early stages of development. We are currently identifying and studying issues and determining potential solutions. Contingent upon funding, we anticipate design starting mid-2024 through 2026.
The design process is anticipated to be complete in 2026.
A construction schedule has not been determined and is contingent upon project funding.
There will not be any traffic interruptions during the design stage.
While there will likely be traffic interruptions during the construction stage of 421 Forward, INDOT and its contractors will be implementing a maintenance of traffic plan to lessen the impact to motorists. The INDOT team will communicate regularly with stakeholders to keep them informed about road closures and alternate routes so drivers can plan ahead accordingly.
